The Stowe Derby day

Yesterday was the Stowe Derby, which is a cross country ski race from the top of Mount Mansfield, to the town of Stowe, VT. The race is about 20K of all kids of terrain and some amazing downhill runs down the Toll Road on the mountain. I did the race again this year, and with the 36" of new snow it was fantastic. The course had been altered due to lack of snow a few days before the race, and couldn't be changed back, but it was a great adventure, none-the-less. Now I won't pretend that I place anywhere in the competition, I just do it for fun, and tradition, and to meet a lot of great people. The after party was a hoot too!

Snow day!

I had great ambition to get into writing this blog today-after all, it has been almost two months since I started it, but then, the snow began. Finally. It snowed more than 24" in Stowe. Off I went to enjoy winter's bounty. It was an amazing day on the mountain, with everyone in great spirits and really getting out in it. That's what makes Vermonters happy! Now it is time for making chili and having a glass of wine. The perfect way to end a day on the slopes. I hope your day was a grand!
